Stainless Steel 431 Coil is a high chromium-alloy steel, one of the most popular alloys used in heat exchangers and other industrial machinery. Its composition includes 16 to 18 per cent chromium, between 0.75–1.25 per cent nickel, up to 1 per cent manganese and 0.060–0.10 per cent silicon, along with phosphorus and sulfur as trace elements for improved tensile strength and corrosion resistance while being relatively cost-effective compared to other stainless steels of similar properties.
Stainless Steel 431 Coil is an excellent material for applications that require high corrosion resistance and toughness. It has outstanding corrosion resistance in freshwater, mild acids, and other environments. Its exceptional strength makes it a great choice for manufacturing springs, spacers, and application components like fastener assemblies and bolts. Moreover, due to its high heat-resistance properties, the steel can be used in applications that involve temperatures up to 500C or higher. This type of stainless steel also provides good machinability with better formability than most austenitic steels – making it suitable for forming operations such as crimping or bending.
