Stainless Steel 317LM is an austenitic stainless steel designed to be corrosion, oxidation, and creep resistant in temperatures up to 1500°F. It is composed primarily of iron, 18-20% chromium, 8-10.5% nickel, 2-3% molybdenum, 1-2% manganese and 0.08%-0.15%% nitrogen along with trace amounts of other elements such as carbon and silicon.

Stainless steel 317LM sheet has a range of excellent properties such as superior corrosion resistance, superior heat resistance and outstanding strength. It comes with an ideal combination of wear resistance, formability and weldability for many applications in the chemical processing, food processing, oil & gas sectors, etc. Its unique chromium-nickel-molybdenum chemistry gives it improved mechanical properties compared to 304-grade stainless steel.
