Stainless Steel 316H Electrodes

Stainless Steel 316H Electrodes

316h Stainless Steel Electrodes are composed of Iron (Fe) in a range of 68-73%, Chromium (Cr) in a field of 17-19%, Nickel (Ni) in a range of 11-14%, Manganese (Mn) 0.5 - 2.5 %, Silicon Si max 1%, Carbon C max 0.08% and other trace elements such as Sulphur Phosphorus and Nitrogen no more than 0.03%. In addition, it also has Molybdenum (Mo), Copper (Cu), Titanium (Ti), and Aluminium(Al). This combination of elements provides excellent corrosion resistance properties with improved high-temperature strength making it ideal for applications where these properties are essential, such as medical equipment manufacturing and chemical processing plants.

SS 316h Electrodes are often used in corrosive environments due to their high corrosion resistance and strength. Its properties include good weldability, formability, and ductility, and it can also maintain its potency at higher temperatures. 316h has a carbon content of 0.04-0.10%, making it the most widely used grade among all austenitic stainless steel. It is generally referred to as “marine grade” because it offers the best corrosion protection when exposed to salt water.

Stainless Steel 316H Electrodes FAQ's

Stainless Steel 316H Electrodes Price Start From Rs. 300/Kilogram To Rs. 450/Kilogram.

The recommended welding technique for Stainless Steel 316H electrodes is TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding or MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding. Both of these techniques provide high-quality welds and are suitable for use with thin gauge materials.

Yes, Stainless Steel 316H electrodes can be used in high-temperature applications due to their high resistance to heat and corrosion. It can withstand temperatures up to around 1600°F (870°C) before experiencing any degradation in its properties.
