Stainless Steel 309H Electrodes

Stainless Steel 309H Electrodes

The chemical composition for 309H Stainless Steel Electrodes is as follows: Iron (Fe) - Bal; Chrome (Cr) - 24–26%; Nickel (Ni) - 13–15%; Manganese (Mn) - 2%; Silicon (Si) – 0.75%; Carbon (C) – 0.08% max.; Sulfur (S) – 0.015% max.; Phosphorus (P) – 0.045% max.; and Molybdenum (Mo). It also contains trace amounts of other elements such as titanium, aluminum, copper, and nitrogen.

309H SS Electrodes are ideal for welding components made from 309 and 309L stainless steel, such as those used in the pharmaceutical industry, petrochemical processing, heat exchangers, and boiler components. They have excellent corrosion resistance due to their high chromium content (an approximately 24-26%), making them suitable for long-term use in harsh environments. Additionally, they have great weldability due to their high nickel content (an approximately 13-15%) and good formability when exposed to temperatures up to 1800°F. Other properties of these electrodes include high tensile strength, oxidation resistance, and non-magnetic characteristics.
