Aluminium 5086 Wires

Aluminium 5086 Wires

Aluminium 5086 Wires are an alloy of aluminium, magnesium and manganese. Generally non-heat treatable, the alloy is used in many industries for its high strength-to-weight ratio, outstanding corrosion resistance and excellent weldability. It's commonly found in various products and applications such as building supplies, marine components, electrical equipment and cryogenic tanks. Due to its combination of properties, it can be machined easily into various shapes, making it ideal for a wide range of industrial applications.

Aluminium 5086 wires are widely used for electrical applications due to their excellent corrosion resistance, high strength-to-weight ratio and low cost. These wires have a melting point of 460°C and an Electrical resistance of 0.034 ohms/cm at 20°C. Aluminium 5086 is also extremely malleable, which makes it suitable for use in the production of armour plating around cables and ship rigging, as well as cold-drawn wire products such as litz wire conductors, twisted pair cables, braidings, etc. Its superior oxidation properties also make it widely used in aircraft exhaust systems and fuel tanks.
