Pure Tungsten (W-1) comprises 99.95% pure tungsten and 0.05% trace elements, making it the highest purity commercially available from a producing mill. It has excellent electrical conductivity, high melting point, and good heat resistance – ideal for demanding applications such as semiconductor manufacturing and aerospace components. Its high purity also makes it suitable for medical implants such as artificial joint components or dental fixtures that require low impurity levels for safe operation in the human body.
Pure Tungsten (W-1) is extremely strong and pliable, making it ideal for high-temperature applications. It is also corrosion-resistant and has a very low electrical conductivity. Its most common usage is in manufacturing filament lamps, electrodes in arc welding, and other heating elements. In addition to this, Pure Tungsten has been used for marine components due to its resistance to seawater corrosion. Furthermore, it can be alloyed with other metals, such as nickel or cobalt, to create stainless steel knife blades that are incredibly strong while still maintaining their sharpness over time.
