Aluminium 5086

Aluminium 5086 is a type of aluminium alloy, belonging to the 5000 series of alloys. It contains 5% magnesium and 0.4-1.2% manganese, and has medium-to-high strength characteristics. It also boasts excellent corrosion resistance in marine environments, making it suitable for a variety of engineering applications such as shipbuilding components, vehicle bodies and armor plating amongst others. The alloy can also be used in processing equipment that requires superior strength at low temperatures - making it truly versatile for manufacturing use cases!

Aluminium 5086 is an alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and increased strength due to the addition of manganese, magnesium, and chromium. It can be readily formed, welded or cold-worked and has applications in marine environments and structural/architectural uses. Its high strength-to-weight ratio and low cost make it an ideal choice for many projects, including - shipbuilding components, vehicle parts, frames for railcars or other vehicles, bridges, general fabrication works or any other heavier-duty structures where a good combination of cost-effectiveness along with strength are desired.
