Alloy Steel Grade 22

Alloy Steel Grade 22 is a stainless steel with high strength and fatigue properties. It contains chromium-manganese-nickel alloying elements plus nitrogen for improved oxidation and corrosion resistance, making it superior to carbon steels. Its composition includes–24% Chromium; 12–14% Manganese; 1.5–2.5% Nickel; 0.15-0.45% Nitrogen; Remainder of Iron and trace amounts of other elements like Carbon, Silicon, Phosphorus, and sulphur as per the specific grade requirements. Grade 22 alloy steel is highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion in indoor and outdoor settings, making it an ideal choice for use in numerous industries, including aerospace, automotive motorsport, medical instrumentation, oil & gas drilling, etc.

Alloy Steel Grade 22 is a high-strength, low-alloy steel with exceptional wear resistance and fatigue strength. It also has good corrosion resistance, weldability, and machinability properties. This grade of steel is often used in components where superior impact or abrasion resistance is required, such as construction equipment, agricultural machinery parts, valves, gaskets, flanges and mining tools. Other applications include commercial vehicles such as tractors or hauliers for heavy-duty materials handling industries. With its superior mechanical properties and excellent formability, you can trust Alloy Steel Grade 22 to do the job correctly!
